Capital City Alliance
The Capitol City Alliance (CCA) is an all volunteer organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and our allies in the greater Baton Rouge area.

A well-organized, well-informed, and well-connected LGBT community we are able to communicate effectively, promote events of interest to our community, identify LGBT-friendly professional resources and establishments, and advocate effectively for laws and policies that will have a positive impact on the local LGBT community, our friends, and families. It is our goal to provide the platform, people, and resources to make these things happen.

Equality Louisiana

Equality Louisiana works to achieve full equality for all Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people in Louisiana by supporting the development and on-going success of strong LGBT college, local, regional, statewide, and allied organizations while also providing a collective voice for the expansion of civil rights through policy and legislative advocacy.

Gays Alliance for Legal Equality (GALE)
The Gay Alliance for Legal Equality (GALE) is the first organization at Southern University Law Center centered around lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues in the legal community. GALE received its charter in the spring of 2010. GALE was organized to promote equality and diversity among the legal community and raise awareness of LGBT legal issues.


Louisiana Stonewall Democrats
Louisiana Stonewall Democrats is an organization dedicated to supporting candidates and policy that will help combat discriminatory legislation based on sexual orientation and sexual identification. We are a grassroots establishment within the Democratic Party that advocates social change that will improve the lives of people in LGBT communities and families in Louisiana and across the country.

Spectrum (LSU)
Spectrum empowers and supports LSU lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) communities as well as their allies, by providing social support, education, programming, and opportunities to participate in campus and community activism.


OUTlaw (LSU Law Center)
OUTlaw is a student organization recognized by the Student Bar Association of the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center. The mission of OUTlaw is to create a climate at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center in which it is safe and comfortable to be openly lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or an ally (“LGBT”). OUTlaw members aim to promote education, awareness, and advocacy of LGBT issues to LSU Law students, faculty, and staff. We seek to create an atmosphere of acceptance and comfort, instill justice, and combat discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. We exist to provide support and a sense of community while simultaneously engaging in political activism and advocacy.

PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
